Coach Neibauer has been part of the Wildcats program for 17 years, coaching the JV team for eight seasons, and the 9th grade team for 5, before becoming head coach in 2019-2020. In 2015-2016 coach Neibauer was voted section assistant coach of the year. In 2019-2020, he was voted KDUZ Area Coach of the Year.

"Neibs" has worked specifically with point guards and had a big hand in developing All State / All Star and record-setting point guard Anna Schmitt, who finished her career as the school's all-time leading scorer in 2015. 

As a head coach, Neibs is 55-23 all-time, and helped lead Waconia Girls Basketball to its first ever State tournament in 2019-2020. 

Coach Neibauer played for Fertile-Beltrami in 2001, and his team made a trip to the State Tournament. He then played from 2002-2004 for Northland Community and Technical College

Jeff Bessire has been a part of the Wildcat program for two years, and has had a key hand in leading our B team, developing wings and scorers, and has helped us improve much through the summer as well as winter seasons. 

Coach Bessire is the head coach of both the Girls and Boys tennis teams, new programs that he's lead to early success, as well as huge numbers of participants, which speaks well to his inspirational approach and influence on the student athletes of WHS. He's a physical education teacher at Bayview.
