Wildcat Wrestling Team STATE BOUND!

Congratulations to our Wildcat Wrestling team on qualifying for the 2023 MSHSL Class AAA Team State Championships! Our Wildcats defeated Eden Prairie 34-29 in a fantastic team effort!

Team Roster Includes: Ian Olson (9), Gabe Witschorik (10), Carter Katherman (10), Wesley Hammarsten (9), Jimmy Johnson (10), Maveric Mueller (11), River Aamold (11), Lincoln Vick (12), Isaac Bonick (11), Bradee Dwinell (11), Aiden Meuwissen (8), Chase Skaalerud (12), Alex Torres (12), Will Goldschmidt (10), Levi Mueller (11), Andrew Torres (12), Jackson Green (11), Cooper Jahnke (10), Max McEnelly (12), Vincent Halliday (9) and Alex Riley (12). Student Manager Addie Torres. Coaches, Nick Hackman, Derek Sikora, Mike Pettit, Jason Stripling, Terry Gammell, Brian Boll and Tyler Safratowich.

Wildcats hosted the Section 6AAA Individual tournament on Sat Feb 25th and advanced 7 wrestlers to the State Championships as Section Champs! An incredible day for the Cats also included 5 Third place finishes, a 4th and a 5th place medal to round out all 14 weight classes finishing in the top 5!! Congrats also to Head Coach Nick Hackman and Assistant Coach Derek Sikora in being named Section coaches of the year!

TEAM PARADE! Come out and show your support for our Wildcats Wednesday afternoon, March 1st  approx. 1:45pm – 2:30pm!! Send off the State Wrestling team as they “parade” past our Elementary Schools and through downtown Waconia (approx 2:15pm) Wednesday afternoon!

The Wildcats will compete in the Team State tournament on Thursday, March 2 beginning at 9:00am and the State Individual tournament will take place Friday, March 3- Saturday, March 4th. For online tickets please visit www.mshsl.org or watch the state meet via livestream at www.nspn.tv!
